    Personal Favourites:
  1. The Leonard Cohen Files is one page on the web which, I think, contains pretty much all there is to find on him and a list of books which tell even more. Leonard Cohen himself has sent several of his latest poems to this site, together with drawings he made. All this makes the lousy Midi-rendition of Seems So Long Ago, Nancy playing in the background forgivable.

  2. Beatles News Briefs is pig ugly, but does provide the visitor with the latest news on the Beatles-front. Invaluable for the real Beatles-fan.

  3. Underground Chic:
  4. Popcontrol is a site primarily dedicated to obscure Industrial music, but with film and book reviews too! Don't be too fooled by the aggressive attitude - these people are actually quite nice & friendly.

  5. Generation Terrorists is not actually out to destroy you, but is an archive of quotes for all those GenX-ers and after.

  6. lowfashion.com is for all those people who want to be heard, but probably never will be. Add some of your own creative powers to this fab site.

  7. flip flop flyin' are like really small versions of people and art. Like a visualisation of the Kafkaesque realisation of how small and insignificant the individual really is. Note the enormity of the surroundings.

  8. plinko.net is the home of some of the most innovative and original 404-pages on the web, as well as giving you the opportunity to ask Bill Gates for advice.

  9. Underbelly is not actually anybody's or anything's underbelly, but a page which refers you to pages on the web which are arty, innovative and/or aesthetically pleasing. Pay particular attention to the mathematically psychedelic Flight 404.

  10. Films:
  11. The English Patient Unofficial Homepage is only about the film, but it contains a vast amount of sounds, pictures and filmclips, together with information about and references to the main actors.

  12. Fametracker. Advertises itself as being 'the Farmer's Almanac of Celebrity Worth'. Has features like 'Hey! It's That guy!', which helps you find that guy, from that film you saw, and 'Two Stars One Slot', which assesses which is the best of two actors for a particular niche.

  13. The Internet Movie Database. Although not complete, contains more movies and television series than most books on the subject. And they give you a chance to rate as well. Plus it updates itself. Try doing that with a book.

  14. Rotten Tomatoes doesn't review every new film and video itself, but collects the reviews that other people have written, ranging from the 'man in the street' to the people who do it for a pay.

  15. Ain't It Cool News. Reputedly influential, but really just a white trash whale saying really silly things and making many, very many spelling mistakes. Go there for a laugh, but not to be informed.

  16. The Editing Room. Much better than the average movie reviews are the ones found here. Not as much reviews as abridged scripts for films, exposing everything that's wrong with it.

  17. CAP alert. Anally retentive, Christian and extremely homophobic are the movie reviews produced by this website. Can you really afford not to have a look?

  18. Star Wars Official Website. Have recently gone a little off the track, but usually quite all right. Nothing earthshattering and many cryptic nonsense, especially now with those prequels.

  19. Also on Star Wars: The Force.net will have all information and rumours about Star Wars available for you. Updates 24 hours a day. Often silly.

  20. Jedi Net. Another Star Wars site. A little whimpy, really, but beautifully designed, which makes up for much.

  21. Music:
  22. Harmony Central© Olga Search Engine has been a great resource for all those songs for which I was too lazy to figure out (which are most).

  23. Computer enhancement:
  24. Softseek Desktop Enhancements is where I found many small programmes and screensavers which made my life on the computer a little more fun. Also great for screensavers, web authoring tools, iconmakers, and other things to entertain yourself with when you're bored.

  25. Comics:
  26. Arrogance in Simplicity. Stick figures! Actual honest-to-God stick figures in what is undoubtedly the worst drawn comic ever. But it's very funny and -more importantly- intelligent.

  27. Hounds Home. When it's good, it's really good, but sometimes it gets stuck in a dead-end storyline. Still very entertaining & well worth reading. With Arrogance in Simplicity and Goats the best comic on the web.

  28. Sluggy Freelance. Getting better all the time. Sometimes also getting extremely weird. Always badly drawn, but it doesn't matter.

  29. Red Meat. Sick, in an American Mid-West kind of way. Evil milkmen, sicko husbands, psychotics, neurotics and one dead clown. Very child-unfriendly.

  30. Bobbins. A UK-based comic featuring a bunch of twencens and the usual stereotypes. Also gets better along the way.

  31. Waiting for Bob. Like Bobbins, only American.

  32. Goats. Starts off rather badly, but gets better along the way. Start in 1998 if you think you can't put up with 'getting into it'. Both Goats and Waiting for Bob have crossovers with Bobbins.

  33. Absurd Notions. Nerds, dungeons and dragons,a couple of stereotypes (then again, what fun would a comic be without stereotypes).

  34. After Y2K. Not only nerds, but also a True Geek and Techno Talking Babes in this brilliantly intelligent comic which is secretly very badly drawn.

  35. Floor 13. Like A-Y2K, only more British, evil and sarcastic. Take a look at his Hax0r page (ph33r my l33t 5ki115).

  36. Airtoons provides you with comments to those safety cards you find in the pockets of airplane seats.

  37. Weird:
  38. In the category Truly Ridiculous: CIA for Kids. Just look, okay?

  39. Bert is Evil. Yep, he really is.

  40. How to Drive Like a Moron. Pretty much speaks for itself, I should think.

  41. Do You Really Know What Homosexuals Do!? Well, do you? If you don't, I guess Christians telling you what vulgar fantasies they indulge in is as reliable as any man's. Right?

  42. 1974 Gameshows. Some people are interested in these.
