So you think you like poetry? Well, I hope you're prepared for this!
Every section contains about 9 or so poems, some have more, some have less, and the older sections are usually littered with commentaries on the poems, written in retrospect. Sometimes to give the poem a different angle, sometimes to distance myself from it, sometimes to award its good points, sometimes for a laugh, and sometimes not.
If you only have to time to look at one single section, then take a look at either of the top ones, which are more or less an anthology of all the other sections.
Travelling Down to the Deprimerium is the selection of poems which I have sent off the various publishers recently. Basically constituting reworked versions of the other poems, this selection has also forgone the chronological order in favour of a thematical order. This baby is big (51Kb).
The Hedgehog That Almost Drowned is the most recent selection of poems taken from The Notebook.
Thoughts on Faith and Faltering is a transcription of poems and thoughts about failing and self-confidence taken from The Notebook.
In This Room is a series of daunting poems based on notes from The Notebook of 1998.
The Want of Perfection is a collection of poems about the personal desire to be perfect and the continuous lack of this perfection.
We are the Next Generation is a series of dauntless poems about youth, culture and 'the things' as they are.
Five Days Till Winter is a series of rich prose poems, disguised as letters.
Three Wishes for a Loser is a collection of older poems. Mostly, but not exclusively, love poems.
Poems From Before My Time are poems from my stone age.
