My Bookcase

Maintained by Maurice Dekker

I read the occasional book. Actually, quite a few occasional books. Some better than others, but books nonetheless which can be qualified as literature, one way or another. Or not. This page is set up to let those who have no idea what to read next perhaps be inspired to pick up one of the following books. I won't bore you with any top 10s or anything like that, just a blatant division on temporal (when I read it) and alphabetical grounds.

Bedside reading tells you what I have recently read, and what's on my nighttable.

All those books I have reviewed, are now shelved, by author:
On the Shelves: A-F; from Douglas Adams to Stephen Fry
On the Shelves: G-M; from Alex Garland to Harry Mulisch
On the Shelves: N-S; from Vladimir Nabokov to Graham Swift
On the Shelves: T-Z; from Donna Tartt to Timothy Zahn

Academic books, which section contains books that are not so much academic, as meant as an enlightenment on a specific (scientific) subject.
